The Annual Meeting of Findern Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday, 18 May 2023. The meeting will be held at the Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern.

  • you have coronavirus symptoms: a high temperature, loss or change to sense of smell or taste, a new continuous cough.
  • if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for a test result.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting for the Parish of Findern will be held on Thursday 11 May 2023 at 6.30pm. The venue for the meeting is the Methodist Church, Lower Green, Findern.

THE MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC.

This is the annual meeting for the Parish of Findern; in addition to the annual report from the Parish Council, this is an opportunity for groups and organisations active in the village to give an update to residents on their activities over the previous year; and for parishioners on the Electoral Roll to raise any matters of concern to them that relates to their local community.

This is an opportunity for groups and organisations active in the village to give an update to residents

on their activities over the previous year.

5)Matters raised by electors

To consider any matters raised by electors. The Parish Meeting is an opportunity for parishioners

on the Electoral Roll to raise any matters of concern to them that relates to their local community.

It would be helpful to have written notice of any matters to be raised but it is not essential.

Matters can be raised at the meeting without prior notice.

Sunday 7 May 2023 – Get Together for the King!

Emblem for the Coronation of King Charles III On Sunday 7 May 2023, street parties and ‘big lunch’ events will be taking place up and down the country to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

To join in with the big day, the Parish Council are hosting a ‘Get Together for the King’ on Findern Village Green between Noon and 4pm on Sunday 7 May 2023.

You are invited to bring your own table, chairs and picnic and join us to celebrate this historic day together as a community.

 

Come along to Festive Findern! First event is on Saturday, 3 December

Findern can start getting in the Festive mood with the first event of Christmas 2022 – the switching-on of the Christmas lights on Saturday 3 December.

Festive Findern 2022 LogoFindern Parish Council invite all residents to join us on The Green at 5pm for the countdown.

Once the lights are twinkling, residents are welcome to convene to the warmth of the Village Hall for mulled wine and mince pies and refreshments for the children too.

There will be Children’s entertainment from Dream Parties and Santa will be in his Grotto waiting to meet all the children to hear what toys and games they hope to receive this Christmas.

Santa has a gift for every child to keep them entertained until the big day!

We look forward to seeing you at the first of the village’s Festive events. Note, the event will go on till about 7.30pm.

Also, in the Festive Findern programme, there will be a Community Carol service on The Green at 5.30pm on Tuesday 20 December; followed by the big one on Thursday 22 December from 5-8pm, Santa’s Sleigh and Christmas Fayre, also on The Green.

Picture of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth IIWe are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Our sadness at this time is shared by residents of the Parish of Findern, and across the country and the world as we remember with affection and gratitude Her Majesty’s lifetime of service.

Findern Parish Council send sincere condolences, on behalf of our residents, to the Royal Family at this time of their great loss.

Anyone wishing to place a floral tribute to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth may do so under the tree on The Green in Findern that was planted there to celebrate the Queen’s 50th Jubilee. This is the smallest of the five trees there, nearest to the corner with Main Street.

The Parish Council is also making arrangements to open a Book of Condolence at the Village Hall from Monday, 12 September. Details of when this will be available to residents will be posted here, and also on the Community Facebook page and Noticeboards.

All Saints Church will be lit up from this evening until the day after the state funeral.

All Saints Church will be open for private reflections and prayers today from 9am-4pm, Sat 9am-4pm, Sun from 9am (Service as usual at 10am – everyone welcome) and continues to be open until 4pm. A Book of Condolence is available.

Findern Primary School hosts its first Art Gallery event

To celebrate all of the children’s incredible art work, Findern Primary School is holding an art gallery in the new hall at the School on Monday 11th July and Tuesday 12th July 2022.

The School welcomes people from the community to join them for the afternoon to have a look at all the amazing art creations.

This is the first time Findern Primary School have ever hosted an art gallery so please promote this event, spread the word and bring friends and family with you on one of the days.

The gates will open at 2:00pm on Monday 11th July.

Notice for the exercise of public rights – Annual Audit 2021/22

Confirmation of the dates for the period for the exercise of public rights as part of the External Audit process for Findern Parish Council audit and accounts 2021/22.

Each year the smaller authority’s Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) needs to be reviewed by an external auditor appointed by Smaller Authorities’ Audit Appointments Ltd. The unaudited AGAR has been published with the attached notice. As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2022, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to the Clerk:
